Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan Banned For Lifetime

The Pakistan Cricket Board has barred former captains Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan from the national team indefinitely for behavior they say contributed to Pakistan's poor performance on its recent tour of Australia.

The PCB on Wednesday also imposed one-year bans on Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved after implementing the recommendations of an inquiry committee formed to evaluate Pakistan's dismal performance against Australia in December and January.

"Younis and Yousuf both cannot represent Pakistan in any international games, but they can play in domestic cricket and compete in county cricket," PCB legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi told the Associated Press.

Both Yousuf and Younis were involved in infighting while on tour, which resulted in bringing down the whole team, the PCB said in a statement.

"Their attitude has a trickle down effect which is a bad influence for the whole team," it said.

Malik and Naved were also fined two million rupees (US$23,500), wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal was handed a fine of three million rupees (US$35,200) and Umar Akmal, younger brother of Kamran, was fined two million rupees (US$23,500).

Shahid Afridi was fined 3 million rupees (US$35,200) for ball tampering during the one-day series against Australia.

Afridi and both Akmal brothers will be on a probation of six months during which their conduct will be strictly monitored, the PCB said in a statement.

The inquiry committee comprised PCB chief operating officer Wasim Bari, board member Wazir Ali Khoja, director of cricket operations Zakir Khan, team manager Yawar Saeed and Rizvi.

Watch IPL 2010 LIVE on YouTube

IPL 2010 will be a memorable season for more reasons than one. The quality of cricket, scale of the tournament, and now, the big partnership between Google, the internet giants and IPL.

All 60 games of Season 2010 will be broadcast live on YouTube on www.youtube.com/IPL and also on www.iplt20.com, a revolutionary event that changes how sports will be viewed forever. Viewers now will have the convenience of watching the games live, or the highlights and special features, wherever they might be. They will have uninterrupted access to the games and the unique content created for YouTube right through the iconic tournament. And the best news for cricket fans is that all these features will be available to them on YouTube for free.

This is the first time that Google will be streaming a major global sporting tournament live. This partnership also marks a first-of-its-kind innovation in live streaming of any global cricketing event providing boundary-less access to billions of fans across the world, except in USA where re-broadcast options will be available. On-demand videos, special content (which includes match highlights), player interviews, wickets of the match, top sixes of the match, award ceremony, pitch reports, etc will be available to viewers.

An exclusive "YouTube View" or "fun feed" will provide viewers with an alternative view of the match not available on television or any other media.

Speaking on the occasion, Shailesh Rao, Managing Director, Google India and Media & Platforms, Asia Pacific said: "We are thrilled to have the IPL as our global partner and bring to the YouTube community around the world and here in India an interactive, unique experience building greater awareness around the world for the sport."

According to Lalit Modi, Chairman and Commissioner, Indian Premier League: "This unique initiative by IPL to partner Google India will give the league a global reach on a single distribution platform. This will allow IPL fans anywhere in the world to view the action on-demand as per their convenience, thus making the new dedicated IPL channel on YouTube the biggest virtual stadium in the world. Fan interactions with players, owners and other fans worldwide will ensure that the IPL YouTube destination becomes the most compelling and comprehensive online destinations for the league."

Deccan Chargers top charts after heart-stopping clash

The heart pounded the chest relentlessly – from the time Anil Kumble bowled Adam Gilchrist to long after the entire Deccan Chargers dug out raced to the middle to celebrate a fairytale victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in DLF Indian Premier League final on Sunday. It was a night when the Deccan Chargers refused to be tamed the Bull Ring.

The heart sought to gloss over Herschelle Gibbs's effort – painstaking and scratchy for the most past – when Deccan Chargers batted first. He finished with 53 not out off 48 balls. But the mind reminded the heart that it was perhaps the single most significant batting effort on a sluggish track in the grand final. Deccan Chargers ended up with 143 for six in 20 overs.

The heart cringed a bit when the vastly experienced Andrew Symonds chatted up Royal Challengers Bangalore young opener Manish Pandey but it also knew that the teenager will have grown up considerably. Pandey, of course, heard more of Symonds and faced the attack less as had got to play but seven deliveries before being dismissed by Pragyan Ojha.

Ojha took a leaf out of Kumble's book, put his hand up for his team and finished with three for 28 to play the lead role in Deccan Chargers' spectacular defence of the low score. Of course there were others who made it work for the team that drew on the twin fuels of hunger and self-belief as they pursued their goal with single-mindedness.

Richard Harris starting the proceedings with a maiden over to Jacques Kallis; little-known Punjab fast medium bowler Harmeet Singh showing character under pressure and claiming two for 23; Andrew Symonds returning to scalp the dangerous Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli; RP Singh conjuring Kallis' dismissal and finishing with 4-0-16-1.

There was more. A spectacular catch by Harmeet Singh, who sprinted from long leg and lunged forward to get his hands under the skyer to dismiss a defiant Vinay Kumar in the 19th over. Gilchrist himself contributed with two wonderful stumping dismissals to curtain the innings of Roelof van der Merwe and Kohli.

The sum of such wonderful parts was beautiful. And the heart

Then again, it was hard for the heart not to reach to the gallant Anil Kumble. It is not often that a man does everything he could possibly do – bowl with the new ball and claim Adam Gilchrist, come back to pick up the wickets of Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma at critical junctures – and end up having to watch his team fall short by six runs.

Two teams that had finished eighth and seventh last season fought every inch and one had to run out winner at the end of a stunning game that climaxed a wonderful tournament. Believe me, the heart hasn't stop pounding through the writing of this piece; the words flowed even as a spectacular closing ceremony that followed such a breathtaking match.

How to watch IPL Cricket online ?

These days IPL Twenty 20 cricket tournament is going on in India. For the first time in the history of world cricket, Internet has taken lead over traditional TV coverage of the matches. Now people are more interested in watching cricket matches on internet. As a result online live IPL cricket matches are available on a large number of websites. After some efforts on google and other search engines I have compiled a list of those websites. However most of the websites require installation of softwares like SOPcast player or TVU player on the PC. These softwares are designed to redistribute video streams in real time on a P2P network, the distributed video streams are typically TV channels from all over the world but may also come from other sources. These softwares have the potential to make any TV channel globally available.

These are some sopcast links. Install sopcast player and copy past these links in your browser

sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/50654

sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/50657
sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/48246

What is SopCast Player ?
SoP is abbreviation for Streaming over P2P. Sopcast is the Streaming Direct Broadcast System based on P2P. Yeah, Sopcast is a P2P Client, which means there will be one master source who streams the online content and the all other users who are watching the stream act as secondary sources. So when you watch the sopcast stream you will not only download the media content, you may also upload the media content which you have downloaded for others. It is just like Torrent client, download and upload for others. Broadcasting via a P2PTV system is usually much cheaper than other technologies.

You can download this player for free from http://www.sopcast.com/player/

McCullum replaces Sourav as skipper

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum has reportedly replaced Sourav Ganguly as captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders for their first match in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket event in South Africa.

Knight Riders’ Australian coach John Buchanan weeks ago had made a furore by announcing his intention to have multiple captains for the Season-2 of IPL.
He was strongly criticised from the Greats like Sunil Gavaskar.
The Bengal star, who led Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season though his team lost 8 of the 14 games they played, has said that as professionals he and his team-mates are entitled to fulfill their responsibilities to the team.

Meanwhile, it’s not clear whether the Knight Riders will have McCullum as the only captain for the entire season or multiple captains will be exercised.

As far as the explosive Kiwi batsman is concerned, he had given a blazing start with knock of 156 against the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the last season, which is still the highest score in a T20 match. Moreover, the team management might have taken his availability for the entire non-stop one month long tournament and hence they are hoping some of that brilliance in the second edition.
But this latest development is sure to raise eyebrows in Kolkata's cricketing circles. Knight Riders will play its first game against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers on April 19th.

Watch IPL Cricket Scores Online

Till last year it was only the ODI cricket that fascinated people and was a huge hit among the crowd but at the same time not to forget the magic of the T20 cricket was also spreading but it was after the huge experimental success of IPL that 20-20 cricket has gained so much importance. The event is not only popular in India but it is internationally recognizes as well. Consequently a huge number of cricket craxy websites have started posting the live cricket score along with live text commentary.
